PROMOTIONAL SUPPORT FOR WORLD CONGRESS OF ACCOUNTANTS (WCOA) 2010

The Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) are jointly organising the 18th World Congress of Accountants 2010 (WCOA 2010) to be held from 8 to 11 November 2010 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Themed Accountants: Sustaining Value Creation, the Congress will explore issues related to key areas that directly or indirectly affect the continued relevance of professional accountants in the coming years.

Being the foremost international event in the accountancy profession, MIA and IFAC are committed to organising a well-received and successful WCOA 2010 and in so doing, acknowledges that the success of the Congress requires collective and consistent support from the global accounting fraternity.

Therefore, we would like to seek the goodwill support of your esteemed organisation as a fellow member body in extending us with the following information required:
1. The current number of your membership
2. A list of major conference(s), exposition/exhibition(s) that your organisation will be organising throughout 2009 and 2010. If possible, do please provide us with the details (date, time & venue, no. of attendees, website, contact person etc.)

We would also like to seek the support of the following promotional channels to promote the Congress within your organisation:
1. A hyperlink between WCOA 2010’s website, www.wcoa2010kualalumpur.com and your Organisation’s website.
2. Electronic or print broadcasts (consecutively in 2009 & 2010) to your esteemed members
3. WCOA 2010 advertisement space in your printed and or electronic publications, journals or any other communication materials which you may be able to offer.
4. Time to time we will also be forwarding press releases or articles featuring write-ups about WCOA 2010 and related stories which will be of interest to the society of the profession. We warmly welcome any intentions to feature these articles in any of your communicative channels.

I would like to also take this opportunity to provide some updates of our latest undertaking.

MIA recently hosted a successful IFAC Board Meeting in Kuala Lumpur and featured an interview with the President of IFAC, Mr. Fermin del Valle on the cover of our official magazine, Accountants Today. Highlights on the week’s events were also featured plus the momentous announcement of the first three gold sponsors for WCOA 2010 which is the main story for the Official Newsletter for the World Congress of Accountants 2010, intouch October 2008 issue.

Both of these publications are available online - Accountants Today at www.mia.org.my/at and intouch at www.wcoa2010kualalumpur.com/press/updates or the pdf file as attached.
